Sherriff is an experienced researcher, Commonwealth scholar and expert in Sustainable Agriculture. His professional career cuts across academia, banking, consulting, and business development. Before joining Ouria, he led the sustainability portfolio at CropIT. As a consultant with Agramondis Consulting, he supervised data collection (on food price, stock, and trade volumes) in Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, Mozambique, Kenya, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, and South Sudan as part of the Regional Food Trade and Resilience Initiative (RFTRI) implemented by the Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA). His study on the determinants of public preference for agricultural landscapes in the United Kingdom was a key resource for the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) in the design of Britain’s new agricultural roadmap. At CropIT, he designed and implemented several including the smallholder farming financing scheme for the National Sugar Development Council as part of the initiatives to achieve the National Sugar Masterplan. He holds a master’s degree in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security (with distinction) from Newcastle University, England.
